The e-Conomy Sea 2021 report shows that Southeast Asia’s internet economic investment has started to recover amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The value of investment transactions in the region reached US$ 11.5 billion, up 83% year-on-year. The value of investment transactions in Indonesia was the largest in Southeast Asia during the first half of 2021, totalling US$ 4.7 billion, with 300 investment deals during that period. The recent report from Google, Temasek, and Bain also noted that there are several leading verticals in digital investment in Southeast Asia i.e. e-commerce at US$ 4.7 billion, digital financial services at US$ 2.5 billion, healthtech at US$ 1.1 billion, and education tech at US$ 200 million.
