Digital banks, Bank Jago and Bank Neo Commerce, plan to launch loan products directly through their platform. Executive Director of the Indonesian Fintech Association (AFPI), Kuseryansah said, fintech peer-to-peer lenders do not consider digital banks as competitors, but as collaborators. Last year, a number of digital banks partnered with fintech lenders. For example, channelling scheme partnerships between Bank Jago and Akulaku and Akselerean. Recently, the two digital banks plan to provide direct lending products. Bank Jago’s president director Kharim Siregar, shared that there is a need (for Bank Jago) to access a large customer base to build data analytics capability. Another driver for digital bank direct lending is OJK’s recent regulation to limit the amount of funds that fintechs can lend through bank channeling schemes .
